Tips on playing Buffalo Peak from the blue tees

HOLE #1 300 YARDS DOGLEG RIGHT PAR 4…HANDICAP 9

Sharp dogleg right. Aiming slightly left of the 150 yard black & white post with a fairway metal or hybrid will leave a short approach to this downhill green. Trouble over the green. There is a much bigger risk than there is reward for players who chose driver on this tee.

HOLE #2 492 YARD STRAIGHT PAR 5… HANDICAP 3

Fairway slopes from left to right Therefore, a tee shot hit down the left side often times is in the middle of the fairway. A staked water hazard crosses the fairway about 105 yards from this elevated green. A hidden bunker guards the back left side of this wide deep green

HOLE #3 125 YARD UPHILL PAR 3… HANDICAP 17

Accuracy is essential to this elevated shallow green. Trouble surrounds this wide green.

HOLE #4 335 YARD SIDE-HILL DOGLEG LEFT PAR 4… HANDICAP 7

Once again accuracy off this elevated tee is vital because of the sloping narrow landing area. Attempting to cut off too much of the left may create BIG problems. Pay particular attention to the color of the flag on the flagstick (red-front, white-middle, blue-back) on this deep narrow green. Please keep carts on maintained areas only.

HOLE #5 395 YARD DOWNHILL PAR 4… HANDICAP 5

The bunkers guarding the right side of this fairway suggests a tee shot left of the150 yard black and white post is best. Beware of the deep grass bunkers that protect the right side of this undulating green.

HOLE #6 288 YARD WATER SURROUNDED PAR 4… HANDICAP 15

A lake on the left and a creek off the tee and to the right guard the landing area. The safe tee shot is with a fairway metal, hybrid or mid-iron. The odds are that reward
are greater than the risk for the straight long ball hitter if they avoid the front left bunker.

HOLE #7 182 YARD OVER WATER PAR 3…HANDICAP 13

Avoid the left side because of the front left green side bunker and balls hit left may find the hazard.

HOLE #8 288 YARD SLIGHT DOGLEG RIGHT PAR 4… HANDICAP 11

The conventional shot off the tee is with a fairway metal, hybrid or mid-iron to avoid the fairway bunkers that dart out on the left side. The long hitter has one obstacle between the tee and green… the only tree on the golf course! Fly that and avoid the green side bunkers on the left and master the sloping green from back to front and eagle may be in your grasp.

HOLE #9 506 YARD STRAIGHT PAR 5… HANDICAP 1

As the saying goes “long and straight” works best off the tee on this the longest hole. A water hazard runs across the fairway about 15 yards short of the green.
An elevated green may require “more club” on your approach shot to the wide shallow green.

HOLE #10 402 YARD SLIGHT DOGLEG RIGHT PAR 4…HANDICAP 4

Aim tee shot slightly left of the 150 yard black & white post. Caution: Long hitters may hit their tee shots through the fairway on the left side. However, the left to right slope of the fairway may funnel the ball to the flatter area on the right side of the fairway. On approach shots avoid bunkers on the right.

HOLE #11 461 YARD DOGLEG LEFT PAR 5… HANDICAP 6

This, the shortest of the par 5’s gives the opportunity, with a tee shot down the left center to get close in two shots… Players laying up need to be aware of the water hazard that is approximately 125 yards from this elevated generous sized green.

HOLE #12 226 YARD DOWNHILL PAR 3… HANDICAP 8

Hole plays at least one club shorter than the yardage indicates. Green is protected in the front on the left and right by grass bunkers and sand behind the green.

FOLLOW THE MARKINGS ON THE CART PATH TO FIND THE 13TH TEE.
Hint: It’s not the closest tee to the 12th green…

HOLE #13 339 YARD SLIGHT DOGLEG LEFT PAR 4…HANDICAP 16

Avoid the bunkers on the right side of the fairway 40-70 yards short of the green. The multi tiered green is guarded by a deep grass bunker at the right front.

HOLE #14 377 YARD DOGLEG RIGHT PAR 4…HANDICAP 10

Lake comes into play crossing the fairway about 215 yards off the tee. Tee shots need to fly 225 yards to avoid the hazard. (check the wind direction before attempting to carry water). Bunkers protect the fairways left and right. Long narrow green adds to the difficulty. Out of Bounds on the right side of the hole.

HOLE #15 169 YARD PAR 3… HANDICAP 14

Plenty of landing area between the lake and the front of the green if you leave it short. Large bunker guards the front left side and a grass bunker back right of putting surface.

HOLE #16 493 YARD UP HILL DOGLEG RIGHT  PAR 5… HANDICAP 2

Aim your tee shot just right of fairway bunkers on the left side. Playing second shot to the bottom of the hill, this will give you a flat lie for your approach shot. A steep hillside behind the green will stop any ball hit to far over this wide but narrow green.

NOTE: Follow the cart path past 13 tee to get to 17 tee.

HOLE #17 322 YARD DOWNHILL PAR 4… HANDICAP 18

Aim down the right center of the fairway. Some pot bunkers and deep rough on the left side. Two tier tricky green

HOLE #18 349 STRAIGHT PAR 4 HANDICAP 12

This finishing hole has a split fairway with deep rough separating it. Aim to the right of the 150 yard pole to play upper portion of the fairway. Long narrow two tiered green with bunkers protecting left side.
